BC Prieuré Pully - Morges 4 : 2-5, uncertain games.

7-10 : this is the result in terms of sets. This demonstrate that this match, versus a fancied team of the group, has been very tight.
 
First of all, congratulations for the girls. In the woman-simple Céline keeps on winning her matches by winning her second simple on two games. This time was harder, but that makes her victory more rewarding : 21-16 / 21-19. In the women-double, Caroline and Pascale performed a great game by winning in two sets, 21-17 / 21-17. For the mixt-double, a new pair Nicole-Benoit had not cope and lost 14-21 / 10-21.
 
In the men, the first simple lasted three sets. Patrick played very weel, as usual, versus a much higher-ranked player (C3, knowing that Patrick is D2) ; he almost managed to win his match, loosing only 9-21 / 21-17 / 14-21. Benjamin also almost won his second match, but he collapased (physically and mentally) in the third set 21-18 / 16-21 / 8-21. For his first simple, Lan played very well and forced a third uncertain set versus a highly-experienced player. Final result : 11-21 / 21-15 / 19-21. For the men-double, the pair Lan-Serge did not tip the scale : 14-21 / 16-21.
 
Despite this defeat, Pully is at the fifth rank of the temporary ranking, with one match in advanced of the pursuers. However the "set average" is very good  for a totally redrafted team.
 
Next match : wednesday the 5th of october at Arnold-Reymond versus Vevey. This can be a good game for us since their team is also totally redrafted, so this is another reason to come and cheer us!

1st interclub match versus LUC : an honourable defeat ...

5-2... It is the score of the defeat for Pully on friday the 16th of september 2011 at Malley. The objective is achieved, because Pully scores its first point of the season in the rankings.
 
In details, Céline mastered her simple (21-14 / 21-9) to bring us the first won match. Unfortunately, the mixt-double had not the same success : 14-21 / 18-21. Big match without rewarding... The women-double kepts the audience in suspense till the last point. After having lost the first set 17-21, the second set has been quickly won 21-0, unfortunately the last set has been lost by two points 19-21... Few regrets, but a lot of pleasure...
 
For the men, Patrick missed of few points the opportunity to surprise his opponent (18-21 / 18-21)... Benoit had fun for his first match in losing it 14-21 / 15-21. Concerning Benjamin, he mastered is simple by winning it 21-13 / 21-15 with a very clever play.
 
Finally the results of this first match, with a totally new team, is promising a good future for the club.
 
Next match : wednesday the 21st of september at Arnold-Reymond versus Morges.  Come to cheer us!
